The Litigation Department

As traditional adversarial legal practice demands, we are well trained in the art of courtroom trial and the requisite steps in commencing and proceeding with court processes, irrespective of the transition from manual to electronic filing of court processes. Our proficiency encompasses the preparation, discovery, the trial itself from the Customary Court, Magistrate Court to the High Courts, and potentially the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court processes, in the following compartments:

1. Civil Litigation: Our professional services includes commencing or defending a lawsuit relating to the protection of private rights and enforcement, redress or protection of a private right and obtaining appropriated remedies. This also covers other areas of law such as torts, contract and administrative law, where legal issues therein are capable triggering adjudication on private rights.
2. Criminal law: As defence attorneys, our firm parades competent persons with oratory skills and analytic legal minds in putting together an effective defence and developing a winning strategy for our clients, including negotiating a plea bargain with the prosecution where necessary. As prosecutors, we obtain fiats from the Ministry of Justice to diligently prosecute criminal cases on behalf of our clients

Alternative Disputes Resolution (ADR) Department

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is a spectrum of less costly and more expeditious alternatives to litigation, which allows for more creative and collaborative solutions than that of traditional litigation. We support the use of adjudicative and mediative processes as a means of dispute resolution, to facilitate a negotiated settlement between the parties. Our firm provides creative advice to our clients in navigating the ground rules, proceedings and analyses including the general dynamic of the settlement discussion towards a favourable outcome. We also advocate the use of the Multi-Door Courtroom System as a means of dispute settlement.

Our personnel are members and affiliates of various international and national professional bodies including the International Bar Association, the Nigerian Bar Association, the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
